Treyton Pembroke knows Tatia belongs with him as soon as he meets her, but he’s going to have to save her first.This is a fast-paced and engaging story with interesting characters; full of action, drama, and hot, steamy shifter passion. It’s an easy read that is hard to put down. I recommend it as a very entertaining addition to an exciting series.
I received this book as an ARC group member in exchange for an honest review.Tatia came to Arrow Lake looking for a new start, only to find herself in another big mess. While she's determined to escape her new hell, she doesn't know that her own personal rescuer is hot on her trail. Treyton knew there was something special about Tatia when they met, but following her clues across the lands proves more to him than he realizes. When they finally come together, will the threat bring them together or tear them apart?Even for a short story, this story was missing something. Tatia's kidnapping was loosely understood..could just be wrong place, wrong time. When she was saved, their relationship moved rather quickly (even thought they were mates), but she seemed to have recovered from her kidnapping, the Russian issue rather quickly..then...the Rogue wolfs motives are all over the place. The captured Alpha's ramblings, were just that, ramblings. I know each story gives you another piece of the overall story, but with each story, I'm becoming less interested in continuing to find out the ending.The books are good, don't get me wrong, but as a continuing story arc, it's just not that interesting especially when the books are spread apart...I vaguely remember the last story when a new one is released. Each one is a standalone, but there should be some familiarity to remember where we are in the story when we start the next book. I'm a fan of the author, so I'm invested for that reason, but the story isn't grabbing me like I thought it would.
I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.I recommend reading the 1st book (Jayce) due to there being some overlap and that the MCs of that book make an appearance in this book.Treyton knew there was something that drew him to Tatia the moment he first saw her. Tatia may be intrigued by the stranger she meets at the bar, but getting into a relationship is not what she's looking for. When Tatia is kidnapped by the rogue shifters it will be up to Treyton to save her and the other kidnapped women.Although I did like the story, the romance deals very heavily on the fated-mate trope and I wish there had been more time for the MCs to actually build a relationship before they get to the physical aspect of their relationship. I liked the plot, there is obviously more building with the rogues and the other packs. I liked Treyton and as we got more of Tatia's background I warmed up to her. I just felt that connection with Treyton and Tatia was too quick (especially after the kidnapping).
Tatia left her home and moved to the small town of Arrow Lake, she is looking for a job in a local bar when she meets Treyton. Treyton is dropping off a friend and fellow shifter at his job at that same bar when he sees Tatia and feels and instant attraction. While Tatia will get the job, she will never actually work, she is kidnapped by the Black Ridge rogues. When Treyton realizes that Tatia has been taken by the rogues he is determined to save the beautiful woman he thinks could be his mate.Fascinating and sexy characters in an exciting plot, with action, suspense and a wolf shifter determined to find his mate and a smart young woman that is determined to help any way she can to be found and not be a victim.I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of the ARC.
This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Treyton by Amber Ella Monroe is the second book in the Shifters of Timber Rock series. I did read the series opener, Jayce, and do recommend reading the books in order to get the most enjoyment from the story. Treyton and Tatia's story is presented in a nail biting, rollercoaster ride of emotions. This is a fast paced quick read that pulls you in from the start. I love that Ms. Monroe gives a heroine that is more than a damsel in distress, but not quite Xena the Warrior Queen. I enjoyed that the writing makes you feel like you are standing in the room watching the story unfold. Great addition to the series. This was a good book, but there were parts that had me confused and I had to look to see if I missed something. During when Tatia was telling Trey her story, Trey asked something about the girlfriend of her old boss getting shot. No w here could I find that Tatia mentioned anything about that. There was also words that got switched around, such as when Tatia was wondering where her name was on a list. Instead it said she wondered where her list was on the name. There was plenty of action and a couple of hot sex scenes.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Treyton finds his fated mate in this shifter romance adventure. I liked how Treyton and Tatia each felt drawn to the other from the beginning. I also liked the Tatia accepted her fated mate once Treyton was open and explained things to her. I liked watching their relationship develop. I enjoyed Leroy's fate; it was justified. He had his own brand of evil while he was alpha, and it needed handled. I liked the good versus evil storyline. I can't wait for Draven's story next. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and am giving an honest review.
