If people are giving this book poor reviews because it has doctored cake mixes in it, they probably haven't actually tried Mandy's recipes. She has meticulously added the correct proportions of additional wet ingredients, dry ingredients, and extra flavors to make each cake so moist and delicious. These recipes DO NOT taste like you baked a cake mix from reading the instructions on the back of the box. They're on an entirely different level. Her buttercream recipes are also incredible - I thought I hated frostings until I tried making Mandy's. On top of it all, the photography is stunning. I intend on trying every recipe in this book. I received this book today and have not yet made any of the recipes but did feel it was worth pointing out to prospective buyers that all of the cake recipes in this book start with boxed mix. I was expecting a cookbook with actual cake recipes, rather than simply doctored mix cakes. They may taste great, I don't know, but nothing I would have bought had I known.
I love this book. If you follow Mandy on insta, you know she has no problem saying she uses doctored cake mix recipes. I bake professionally. And although I won’t use doctored recipes for my business, I love using them for family and friend events. The recipes from Baking with Blondie that I have tried tasted amazing and have always gotten me so many compliments. So to have a book full is just so exciting. Can’t wait to try them all. 🙌ðŸ¼

The title of this book says it all! Cake Confidence is exactly what you’ll have after using Mandy’s recipes. I’ve tried many recipes along my journey - from many of the top followed cakers. Mandy’s recipes are not only the best BY FAR but they’re easy to follow! Many of my friends and family have benefited from me using her recipes and time time again, I hear “This is literally the best cake I’ve ever hadâ€.
Mandy’s recipes are by far the best cake/cupcake recipes I’ve ever tried! The cookbook is beautiful and there are so many different and unique cake flavors that I cannot wait to try! It’s a beautifully written cookboon with amazing photos of all her incredible creations. A must buy for your cookbook shelf!!
Mandy’s book is such a treasure. I’ve been waiting weeks for this book and it’s finally here. I sat down and just took it all in. Beautiful photos and thoughtfully written recipes that make me feel like yes, I CAN do this! It’s like Mandy is holding your hand through the process. First cake I’ll be making is fruit pebbles! If you like or love to bake then you need this book in your kitchen.
Not only is this book stunning, but there are a plethora of recipes that are absolutely fantastic. There is a very wide range of flavors from traditional chocolate, to key lime pie cake, to bubblegum and cotton candy! Definitely something for everyone! I love all the tips and tricks of fail proof decorating at the beginning of the book (along with step by step photos) and would recommend this book to any level of baker! Don't let the fact that these all include doctored boxed cake mixes fool you either - whoever you may make these delectable desserts for will be begging for more!!
I’m already obsessed with this book! Like I’m going out of town next week and I’m sad I won’t have a chance to bake anything from it till after that’s how excited I am for it! I follow Mandy on Instagram and her blog and her recipes are so easy to follow!! Another thing I love about her is that her recipes don’t call for all this crazy crap I don’t have and a million different ingredients, she keeps it manageable. You can tell so much love and thought went into this cookbook and I’m just so proud of her because if you follow her on insta you just know she’s an amazing person! I love that each cake comes with a picture because there’s nothing worse than a cookbook with no pictures! 1,000% would recommend this to any skill level of Baker, she’s got some amazing recipes in there!
