Volume 14 wraps Suiryu's and the other martial artist storyline. For those who don't know the whole martial tournament arc wasn't in One Punch Man's original web comic. And yet even though you might consider it a side story I really feel it adds an interesting layer to the series as a whole. I hope that there may be other original story ideas down the line, but for now we will have to wait and see.A brief overview of the arc and epically this volume is what i t truly means to be a Hero. Suiryu has some amazing character growth as monsters invade the tournament area and people are forced to choose whose side they are on. I hope that he may return down the road and not disappear like many other anime and manga "filler" characters. Saitama on the other is there for epic moments and some funny comedic timing. :) If you have read the previous couple of volumes then I think you will enjoy how this arc reaches it's end, but if you are waiting for more Garo then volume 15 will see his return.
This is the darkest story in the series yet and lets us in on the progression of the world of One Punch Man and where things may be leading. The art style is exceptional as always and this book has a level of realism that was interesting and somewhat new to the series. It is thoroughly entertaining and really pulls you in, there are times where you can't help but smile at a turn of events when you're so impressed by master Saitama
Almost the whole of this issue takes place in the stadium where the martial arts tournament has just been thrown out of whack by Goketsu's arrival. Which of the contestants will willingly become monsters (well, Choze for one, of course), which will resist? Suiryu takes on the "monsterized" fighters, at first for the fun and exercise, then with increasing apprehension. Goketsu deals with insubordination in the new-monster ranks. And where's One-Punch Man?So, OPM #15 is coming out next JANUARY ... another six-month wait, @#%&*#!! But the Japanese-language cover is on Amazon, and from that I draw some hope that the One-Punch Man team has not entirely forgotten about the Garo/Watchdog Man showdown that's been hanging in suspense since the last panel of the main story in #12 ...
Still loving it; wish it was longer, but still really enjoyed the art and story. The way this comics story and art sucked me in this world; it was over before I knew it. Can't wait for the next volume.
love this volume, even though it is rather fight-focused and the story doesn't advance much. Murata's drawings are perfect and the translations are well done.
The book came in excellent condition. I love how Saitama defeats the monsters like they're nothing and ends up making the beat to a pulp guy about die from shock.
Comics like this have a tendency to have a lot of filler. These have a lot of action and development. I re-read them often.
One still has it and the re done art is still amazing. If you're interested in the series and have read so far this is more than worth it.
